2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet 750ml

Despite the obvious ripeness of the 2015 vintage this remains aromatically cool, pure and airy with a borderline Chablis-like quinine element adding breadth to the discreetly wooded citrus peel, green apple and acacia blossom-infused aromas. The mouth feel of the middle weight is markedly sleeker and more mineral-driven if less evidently concentrated and powerful on the exquisitely refined finish that just goes on and on. As it often is, this is a Chevalier of class and reserve and about the only nit is a hint of backend warmth. Note well that this is much more reserved than either the BBM or the Bâtard and will need time to develop additional depth. In a word, fantastic. (Drink starting 2027)
