An exceptionally nuanced and broad aromatic spectrum features complex notes of anise, iron, earth, smoke, jerky and a certain animale hint on the mostly red berry fruit aromas that introduce texture and mouth coating flavors underpinned by admirably ripe structural elements culminating in a stylish and almost opulent finish. A very pretty yet serious effort that is more Vosne than Nuits in character in 2005. (Drink starting 2013)
