A pretty, airy and well-layered nose mingles primarily secondary fruit aromas with background wisps of sous-bois, forest floor, spice and a hint of the sauvage. There is fine intensity and a lovely minerality to the still relatively robust medium weight flavors that possess outstanding depth and persistence on the ever-so-slightly warm finale. This has reached an inflexion point of drink or hold though I would opt for allowing it just another few years of bottle age first., indeed the '00 Rousseau CSJ should easily hold for another decade and perhaps longer. Lovely stuff and a clear success for the vintage.
