The Ganevat 2009 Cotes du Jura Savagnin Les Chalasses - Marnes Bleues leads with narcissus- and lilac-like perfume allied to intimations of the salt and iodine that go on to tinge its lush, juicy, subtly oily amalgam of pink grapefruit and apple. Zesty piquancy and pungent herbal notes – along with the aforementioned mineral manifestations – inform a persistent, bittersweet finish. I suspect that this will be best consumed within the next 4-6 years.
